Hi I’m Nick! Thank you for taking the time to find out a little more about me. My dog grooming journey started back in 2011, when I attended Sharp Edgez Barber Institute (Yes! Human hair 😂). After graduating in the summer of 2011, I moved on to manage my own barbershop for about 2 years.
One day I walked into Petco to pick up a few things for my dog and I noticed there were dog groomers there, giving dogs hair cuts. The light bulb went off in my head! I like cutting hair and I LOVE dogs, so a dog groomer would be a perfect career for me. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner!
In 2013, I applied to Petco. Once hired, I quickly realized this is way better than working with people at the barbershop 😂. I spent the first 6 months as a bather. Transitioning from human hair to dogs took some time but was well worth it. After a year at Petco, I graduated from their dog groomer training program. I spent another year at Petco, learning the craft. In 2015, I made the transition from Petco to a privately owned dog grooming salon. I’ve worked there from 2015 to 2019. While I did enjoy it here, my goal was always to one day become the owner of my own grooming salon. On July 29th 2019, I was blessed with the ability to open my own grooming salon, Animal Kingdom Pet Grooming.
So that pretty much sums up my career but what about me personally? Well in 2017 I had the pleasure of marring my best friend. In 2018 we welcomed home our first child together, a wonderful baby boy. Also, in 2020 we welcomed home our beautiful daughter. We also purchased a house in Irondequoit where we reside with our 2 dogs. Our pit bull, Blonka and our shih tzu Stewart. Our 2 old dogs spend most of their days sleeping and ignoring each other 😂. On my free time I love to watch tv and movies. My favorites are Law and Order, Friday, The Dark Knight trilogy and anything Marvel. I LOVE football and I’m a HUGE Los Angeles Rams fan. I enjoy music, traveling (who doesn’t?) and trying to figure out this thing called parenthood. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
